Ubiik joins ESMIG for Utilities and Telecoms Innovation

Toulouse, France

July 19, 2022

We are pleased to announce our partnership with European Association for Smart Energy Solution Providers (ESMIG), the leading European association of smart energy solution providers. Joining ESMIG enables us to join forces with some of the most innovative and forward-thinking companies in the industry. Ubiik has offices across the globe further allowing us to bring our solutions to an even wider market and continue to push the boundaries of the smart energy infrastructure industry. Along with ESMIG, Ubiik is committed to creating a more connected, efficient, and sustainable future.

ESMIG has been dedicated to establishing a two-way information highway that connects the energy supply chain, from suppliers to distributors and production at consumer premises. "Joining ESMIG enables us to join forces with some of the most innovative and forward-thinking companies in the industry. We are looking forward to put Ubiik's unique innovations in AMI and telecom networks to use together with the leading solutions represented at ESMIG." said by Fabien Petitgrand, CTO of Ubiik.

As the largest AMI solutions provider for Taiwan’s smart electricity meter deployment, Ubiik was able to join Taipower in taking one step towards achieving energy transition goals by demonstrating the end-to-end, two-way communication technology. This technology is a key enabler for AMI systems that provide two-way communications between meters or field devices. So far, Ubiik's metering infrastructure deployed 350,000 electrical meters across Taiwan.

ESMIG aims to guarantee accessible, affordable, secure, competitive, and sustainable energy across the European Union with smart metering and energy infrastructures, Ubiik is confident that we can further work towards our goal and missions along with other distinguished members like Landis+Gyr, Oracle Utilities, Cuculus, Itron, SAP and more.

About ESMIG

ESMIG’s focus is on the next generation of smart meters and their technical and functional requirements, lifting regulatory barriers for data availability and access, and developing the necessary infrastructure and standards for demand-side flexibility. Its members develop and provide crucial components in smart energy infrastructures and energy management: they measure, exchange and process relevant energy-related data in a reliable and safe communication chain. These components enable better outage and network condition detection, customized tariffs and accurate bills and precise monitoring of consumption and demand, with the aim to make energy cleaner, more affordable and more reliable.
