Ubiik Successfully Demonstrates Interoperability of freeRAN™ pLTE base station with Landis+Gyr Revelo Cellular Meters
November 4, 2025

Phoenix, AZ – November 4, 2025 – Ubiik, a leader in private LTE (pLTE) solutions for utilities and industrial IoT, has successfully completed interoperability testing in the 915MHz unlicensed spectrum band between its freeRAN™ and Landis+Gyr’s Revelo® Cellular meter.
With this recent development, utility customers can confidently deploy Ubiik freeRAN™ base stations for their AMI solution, either to complement the Landis+Gyr RF Mesh IP network or as standalone solution for small or large areas.
Enabling utilities to reach “stranded meters” in mesh or public cellular black spots, freeRAN™ operates on the unlicensed ISM band, thereby allowing utilities to extend their coverage without the additional expense of licensed spectrum. Its lightweight, compact base station design with the optional built-in EPC allows for fast deployment on existing pole infrastructure at a low price (aka providing high ROI for the program).
“As utilities transition towards AMI 2.0, more frequent data polling will only increase the need for higher bandwidth in their metering communications networks,” said Mark Fecci, VP Sales US, Ubiik. “Deploying a cost-effective, freeRAN™ network today not only solves existing challenges around connectivity but also better prepares utilities for the future of advanced metering.”
