Ubiik Announces FCC Certification of WiFi-capable Pyxis Duo Router for Band 54

Phoenix, AZ – December 8, 2025 – Ubiik, a leader in private LTE (pLTE) solutions for utilities and industrial IoT, announced today the FCC Certification of their WiFi-capable Pyxis Duo LTE router for 3GPP’s Band 54 in North America.
This variant of the Pyxis family of routers offers iSIM combined with 2 physical SIM slots (eSIM-capable) and provides automatic failover between private and public networks should the primary network go down. The router has been certified to operate in B54 spectrum (1670-1675MHz) in addition to both the CBRS and ISM bands.
“This variant of the Pyxis Duo incorporates GCT’s Cat-4 module which brings increased data throughput to support applications with higher bandwidth demands such as video surveillance or low-latency SCADA,” said Mark Fecci, VP Sales US, Ubiik. “By enabling advanced edge computing as well as failover redundancy, the addition of this router to our product range is helping utilities to further transform their grid communications.”
The addition of WiFi capability also offers utilities the opportunity to easily create a local WiFi network to connect devices such as sensors or cameras.
Sachin Chhibber, Chief Technical Officer at Ligado Networks, considers the Pyxis Duo router to be an important building block in expanding the Band 54 ecosystem and enabling high-performance connectivity for utilities to modernize grid operations. “Band 54 operates in TDD mode, giving Utility customers the flexibility to allocate bandwidth between uplink and downlink based on application needs. This approach not only optimizes performance for asymmetric traffic patterns but also delivers greater spectral efficiency.”
The Pyxis Duo pairs with the goRAN™ base station for B54 and is also fully integrated with goNMS, Ubiik’s Network Management System. Providing end-to-end visibility and management of the whole network through a single web interface, goNMS can be deployed either in the Cloud or on-premises.
